Today Station 57 volunteers provided Standby Coverage for our brothers and sisters of Station 85 Milton while they assisted with their annual St Patrick's Day 5K Race and Parade. Squad 57 under the direction of Assistant Chief Rickards with a crew of 5 and Dodge 57-8 with Fire Policeman Torbert arrived shortly after 08:30 and received a briefing of the days events and had the chance to conversate and share laughs with our fellow firemen from Milton before the days events got underway. Volunteers responded to a Commercial Fire Alarm activation at the Food Lion shortly before the parade started only to be cancelled while enroute due to a malicious pull. Members got to enjoy the parade after returning from the Fire Alarm Activation and cleared around 4pm to head back to South Bowers.
We want to thank Fire Chief Johnny Hopkins, Deputy Fire Chief/EMS Chief Skip Millman and 2nd Assistant Fire Chief/Training Officer Bailey Millman for inviting us down to standby again this year and providing great hospitality and camaraderie as we further build our very close working relationship.
