Tonight Station 57 along with Stations 42, 49, 52 and Kent County Paramedics were alerted for a Residential Structure Fire in the area of South Bowers Beach. Command 57 responded with Deputy Fire Chief Johnson and was advised by Kent Center that there was an active fire on the back deck of the house that had been reported extinguished by the homeowner prior to Fire Department Arrival, Command arrived on scene and established the South Bowers Command and advised Kent Center that there was a smoke condition from the rear of the house but no active fire. Units arrived and wet down the affected area and checked for extension. The Scene was turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshals office for investigation and all units cleared.
