Working House Fire - South Bowers Rd

On the evening of February 12, 2016 @ 19:38 hours (Station 57) was alerted for a vehicle into a structure in the 4300 block of South Bowers Rd. (57-17) Assist. Chief Harvey reported the alarm as a vehicle involed, and into a residence after hearing a disturbance outside of his residence. Moments later (57-17) advised Kent center the structure was now well involved and requested for additonal mutual aid. Engine 57-5 responded under the direction of (Deputy 57) Mcconaghy and a crew of 5. Engine 5 arrived on scene to a 2 story unoccupied dwelling with heavy fire showing. (Deputy 57) Mcconaghy established the command. He advised the driver, Chief engineer (lecates) to use class A foam with the heavy fire load that they had. (Deputy 57) Then advised the crew to pull two 1'3/4 lines for fire attack. Tanker 57 responded with (57-16) Assit. Chief Stephen Webb, he was advised to nose in to engine 5 and supply, and take charge of water operations. Mutual aid companies from Frederica, Slaughter Beach and Milford arrived on scene and assisted with water supply, suppression, and extensive overhull. (Station 52) Houston stoodby the station and provided a cover up assignement.(Station 40) Bowers stood by at Frederica. (Deputy 57) Mcconaghy placed the situation under control @ 2200 hours with units working. Many thanks to all the mutual aid companies for the assistance and EVERYONE involved!
